For Kassandra McCarn, Alfred University represents more than the college where she earned her degree; AU is a home. During her undergraduate years, Kassandra found compassion, support and encouragement throughout times of adversity. Her experiences inspired her to help future students become successful.

This community is like a family, and we all want to see each other succeed. I have spent more time in Alfred than any other place in my life, and this will always be a home to me.

In 2016, Kassandra graduated with majors in both psychology and political science and a minor in equestrian studies. Kassandra is also a graduate from AU's College Student Development Master's program. Kassandra currently works as a life skills coordinator in Athletics, developing a career in academic advising that allows her to work with student athletes. Kassandra also aspires to one day earn a PhD in American politics and become a professor.
